Peter looked away, unable to endure the betrayal and pain gathering in her face. Dropping her hands, Wendy stumbled back. Grasping the material over her heart, she stared at him in anguish.
“You would let me go?” she breathed. “Why? Why would you do that?”Peter flexed his muscles and swung his eyes back to meet hers. Fire and Ice met as they each held the other enthralled. “Because you wish it.”
